About Global Nurse Network

How it began

  Whisper’s Magical Children’s Hospital (Uganda)

For five years, my nonprofit worked alongside Whispers to provide life-saving education, training, and certifications for Ugandan nurses, physicians, and staff. With three in-person visits and an ongoing virtual presence, our mission was always about building capacity—not dependency. Today, Whisper’s healthcare team stands independently strong and growing, a model of sustainable impact.

How it evolved

Welcome to my professional hub—where global service meets local advocacy.   My shift from global outreach to addressing urgent needs at home was sparked during a February 2025 nurse leader think tank discussion. Together, we voiced deep concern—and a shared ethical duty—to keep the public informed amid today’s rapidly changing healthcare and policy landscape. The Night Shift Report on Substack was born from that commitment.

Born from over 40 years in nursing—including decades on the night shift—The Night Shift Report is my Substack platform translating healthcare news, policy changes, and public misinformation into practical, real-world language. Through interviews with expert nurses, public health leaders, and policymakers, I aim to give neighbors, not just insiders, the tools to stay informed, safe, and empowered.

where we are going

Our mission

At the heart of my work—both abroad and at home—is a simple, powerful belief: Everyone deserves access to safe, informed, and compassionate healthcare.

From training nurses on the ground in Uganda to informing communities here in the U.S., I’ve dedicated my career to education, advocacy, and action. Today, as the political landscape shifts and public health is increasingly politicized, I’ve launched The Night Shift Report to help everyday Americans make sense of it all.
